For those who, for some reason, are still not aware of what is at stake, I will explain. Minecraft is a sandbox game, which translates as “sandbox”, a virtual construction set that provides the player with unprecedented freedom of action.
What can you tell us about Minecraft?
Having sold four million copies on PC, this epic game began to conquer other gaming platforms, including Android. Today it is difficult to find a modern gaming device for which there is no special version of Minecraft. This review will tell you about the official version of the game for android tablets and smartphones, Minecraft APK.
And what is the “trick”?
Most video games for tablets and smartphones take the player’s freedom to some degree by presenting a linear, orchestrated sequence of levels. The rest of the games are casual timekillers, where the player’s capabilities can be counted on one hand.
Minecraft, on the other hand, brings to the tablet a huge, completely unknown world, consisting of cubic blocks.
The blocks are a variety of materials, ranging from common wood, sand and stone, ending with different minerals, water and lava.
The player is free to change this world as he pleases: blocks can be used not only in their original form, but also processed in every possible way, obtaining new materials. Of course, the player is not alone in the Minecraft world. There are animals here, which, among other things, can be eaten; and monsters who themselves are not averse to snacking on an unlucky player. There are 2 game modes: Creative and Survival. The first mode is a great opportunity to practice building, as the player is not in danger here. The second, as the name suggests, makes the player not live, but survive. Also, pocket Minecraft supports multiplayer via the Internet, which is the implicit danger of discharging your tablet or smartphone ahead of time.
But what about the “fly in the ointment”?
And now, perhaps, it is worth talking about the shortcomings. The graphics of the game are pure cubism, and as a result some immature fans of graphically advanced video games will not be able to watch them without tears. The graphic style is due to specific game mechanics, and in my opinion it is wrong to regard it as a disadvantage. The game has no plot and video inserts at all. Overview and movement are carried out using the on-screen buttons. The controls in Minecraft PE are similar to those in other first-person games, but they work rather clumsily and do not add to the fun process. However, the convenience of playing on a tablet is much higher than on a smartphone.
In addition, the size of the game world is not large enough, due to the limitations imposed by the performance of mobile devices. However, the development of the game, like its prototype for the PC, is in full swing, and in the next version the developer promised to remove the restriction on the size of the game world. Otherwise, when compared with the “older sister” from the PC, Minecraft PE differs slightly. Today, the main differences from the PC version are the absence of caves, the ability to extract some minerals, the ability to move in a squat (not relevant for Sony Ericsson Xperia Play owners) and the aforementioned limitation on the size of the generated game worlds.
Definitely. Even though the game is still beta, the potential would be enough for a dozen smaller video games. If you are not confused by the lowest price, then you should just watch the video of the gameplay on youtube and decide whether the purchase is justified or not.
